Responding to music

This way of making a preview assignment in

my opinion is the best. Connecting personal
experiences with the material you are about
to cover. In our classes, we have talked deeply
about this and how it is a big factor on
keeping students interested in the material
you are covering.
This way of making a preview assignment is
called predicting and seems a lot like asking
an essential question, allowing the students to
think about the material in ways that they
believe true while you guide their thoughts
into the material you are covering.
In class, you have demonstrated this way of
preview assignment very much. Finding music
videos that we know and tying them into the
lesson you are trying to teach. An example of
you doing this is the song with the lyrics What
do I stand for. This way of making a preview
assignment helps keep students interested in
the lesson.

Connections to previous MR: A lot of these ways of making a preview assignment in this reading I
believe is focused on keeping students interested in social studies. In one of our readings we discussed
about why kids dont like social studies anymore and the reason I believe for this is because of some
teachers not using these methods. Students need to be taught in ways that will make learning fun and
relate to them. Once these methods are used more frequently I believe that you wont be able to keep
kids out of a social studies classroom.
