Evaluation

My film represents teenagers as being quite childish as the two girls hide
the phone from their friend as a joke, and refuse to tell her that they have
it when she is clearly distressed. As well as this, the way in which the
friend becomes so distressed by the fact that her phone is taken shows
how obsessed with technology they are. However, the friend left her
phone behind which could imply that she isnt as obsessed with
technology, but it also presents teenagers as being rather careless. The
portrayal or stereotypical teenagers in this film will appeal to an audience
of teenagers.
I had never used the technology to edit films before and so I learnt the
basics on how to do so using Adobe Premiere. I found it quite difficult to
begin with but I soon got the hang of it and was able to reduce the static
sound in the video clips, create sound bridges and cut and edit the film
the way I wanted.
I tried to make my film much like a TV drama by using sound bridges so
that the cuts werent harsh and followed into each other smoothly. I also
used multiple shots, including over the shoulder shots as it is very typical
in TV dramas. I considered applying a quiet soundtrack in the background
of my film to match those of TV dramas however I couldnt think of one
that would fit the atmosphere of my film so I settled with just the diegetic
sounds of people talking in the background and the characters dialogue.
