INTRODUCTORY RITE

Commentator:

Today, we celebrate the solemnity of the Annunciation. This is the day that
the Good News is announced that Mary will become the Mother of Jesus. It is
Jesus who is announced. He will be God-with-us, who comes to do Gods
will by being with us and saving us. Its Jesus day, but its also Marys day.
With the same disposition to serve God and people as Jesus had, she says,
I am fully ready to serve. I am the handmaid of the Lord. May we ponder on
those beautiful words as we celebrate the Holy Eucharist. Let us all stand
and join in the singing of the entrance hymn.

that salvation began with service. Make us ready to serve in love, as Mary
did, together with Jesus Christ, Your Son and our Lord forever.

LITURGY OF THE WORD

FIRST READING: Isaiah 7:10-14; 8:10
Mr. Rex Louie Prudente:
Behold, the virgin shall conceive.
A reading from the book of Isaiah
The Lord spoke to Ahaz, saying: Ask for a sign from the Lord, your God; let it be deep as the nether
world, or high as the sky! But Ahaz answered, I will not ask! I will not tempt the Lord! Then Isaiah
said: Listen, O house of David! Is it not enough for you to weary people, must you also weary my
God? Therefore the Lord himself will give you this sign: the virgin shall be with child, and bear a
son, and shall name him Emmanuel, which means God is with us!
The Word of the Lord.
ALL:

Thanks be to God.

RESPONSORIAL PSALM (Ps 40:7-8a, 8b-9, 10, 11; Sung)

ALL:

Here am I, oh God. I come to do Your will. Here am I, I come to do your will

Mr. Jed Cortez:

You opened my ear to Your word, oh God.

You take no delight in empty sacrifice.
To do Your will is my life and my delight, oh God.

ALL:

Here am I, oh God. I come to do Your will. Here am I, I come to do your will

Mr. Jed Cortez:

I sing of Your justice, I sing of Your peace.

I sing of Your faithfulness and love.
I chant your praise in the midst of all Your people.

ALL:

Here am I, oh God. I come to do Your will. Here am I, I come to do your will

Mr. Jed Cortez:

Here am I, I come to do your will.

SECOND READING: Hebrews 10:4-10

Ms. Jenifer Melliza:

As is written of me in the scroll, behold, I come to do your will, O God.

A reading from the book of Hebrews
Brothers and sisters: It is impossible that the blood of bulls and goats
take away sins. For this reason, when Christ came into the world, he said: Sacrifice and offering you
did not desire, but a body you prepared for me; in holocausts and sin offerings you took no
delight. Then I said, As is written of me in the scroll, behold, I come to do your will, O God.
First he says, Sacrifices and offerings, holocausts and sin offerings, you neither desired nor
delighted in. These are offered according to the law. Then he says, Behold, I come to do your will.
He takes away the first to establish the second. By this will, we have been consecrated through the
offering of the Body of Jesus Christ once for all.
The Word of the Lord.
ALL:

Thanks be to God.

Please all stand to acclaim the Gospel.

GOSPEL: Luke 1:26-38 (The Annunciation of the Lord)

Celebrant:

The Lord be with you.

ALL:

And also with you.

Celebrant:

A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Luke.

ALL:

Glory to You, O Lord.

Celebrant:
Behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son.
The angel Gabriel was sent from God to a town of Galilee called Nazareth, to a virgin betrothed to a
man named Joseph, of the house of David, and the virgins name was Mary. And coming to her, he
said,Hail, full of grace! The Lord is with you. But she was greatly troubled at what was said and
pondered what sort of greeting this might be. Then the angel said to her, Do not be afraid, Mary, for
you have found favor with God. Behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you
shall name him Jesus. He will be great and will be called Son of the Most High, and the Lord God
will give him the throne of David his father, and he will rule over the house of Jacob forever, and of
his Kingdom there will be no end. But Mary said to the angel, How can this be, since I have no

relations with a man? And the angel said to her in reply, The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and
the power of the Most High will overshadow you. Therefore the child to be born will be called holy, the
Son of God. And behold, Elizabeth, your relative, has also conceived a son in her old age, and this is
the sixth month for her who was called barren; for nothing will be impossible for God. Mary said,
Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord. May it be done to me according to your word. Then the
angel departed from her.
The Gospel of the Lord.

HOMILY
PROFESSION OF FAITH

Let us all stand and profess our faith.

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in
Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord. He was conceived by the power of the
Holy Spirit, born of the Blessed Virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell. On the third day
he rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and seated at the
right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead. I
believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting.
Amen.

hope of all peoples, mans hope was realized beyond all expectation.

EUCHARISTIC PRAYER
Celebrant:

Father, You are holy indeed, the fountain of all holiness. Let your spirit come
upon these gifts, and make them holy, so that they may become for us the
Body and Blood of our Lord, Jesus Christ.
Before He was given up to death, a death he freely accepted, He took the
bread and gave You thanks. He broke the bread, gave it to His disciples and
said: Take this all of you and eat it. This is My body which will be given up for
you.
When supper was ended, He took the cup. Again He gave you thanks and
praise, gave the cup to his disciples and said: Take this, all of you, and drink
from it. This is the cup of my blood, the blood of the new and everlasting
covenant. It will be shed for you and for all men so that sins may be forgiven.
Do this in memory of me.
