All materials received at site shall be inspected and ensured that the materials are as per approved material
submittal, shop drawing and single line diagram.
Site Engineer (Electrical) has to ensure that material used at site are of free from any damage or deformity of any
kind of damage material sent be back to supplier.
Ensure all civil works are completed for the area including floor paint to carryout the installation, and clearance is
obtained from respective authorities to proceed further.
Prior to start the installation, refer to the approved shop drawings related to the area of installation and ensure that
required materials are available at site as per approved material submittals.
Ensure the materials are stored properly and there is no mark of damage or deformity of any kind before issuing
the material from site store.
Installation of Telephone & Data cables shall be taken - up through the containment system for Telephone/Data
points to junction box.
Proper care shall be taken while laying the cable to maintain the required safe distances from electrical
equipments and power sources to avoid the main source of interfaces.

Ensure the cabling is done in proper way with out any stress on the cable, while laying at the turning etc, by
keeping enough slack and proper bending radius.
Ensure that enough slack is kept in the cable on both ends to allow the cable termination.
Telephone & Data cables shall be identified on both ends as per method shown in approved shop drawings and
as per Etisalat's requirements.
Continuity testing shall be carried out for each pair / loop of Telephone & Data cable by using continuity test meter
After completion of entire Telephone & Data cabling and approval by consultant, cable termination shall be carried
out in MDF and JB's by contractor and in outlet by Etisalat's.
The pair and locations feeding are identified in the Main Distribution Frame as per approved shop drawing.
All work shall be carried out according to Etisalat's requirements & as per their latest design guide for Telecom &
Broad band service requirements in new buildings.
Main Distribution Frame will be installed in Telephone room as shown in detailed approved shop drawings.
Required rack ways shall be installed to interconnect back bone cable ducting to MDF and JB 's.
Installed MDF, JB's & containment shall be checked for the proper locations and approved by consultant's to
proceed for the cabling works.
An earth pit for clean earth will be provided out side Telephone & Data room.
Earth resistance of the earth pit will be measured and ensured that the value is with in permissible limit specified
by Etisalat's.
Earth cable of size as mentioned in drawing & as required by Etisalat's will be laid from earth pit to Main
Distribution Frame.

Proper termination shall be done at earth pit as well as MDF by using suitable terminal end connectors & as
recommended by Etisalat's.
Metallic frame of MDF shall be earthed and other screens of cables shall also be bonded together and connected
to earthing terminals.
3. PROGRAM
The activity shall be carried as per the planned schedue in co-ordination with the main contractor.
4. SAFETY
HAZARD IDENTIFICATION / REQUIRED CONTROLS & PPE REQUIREMENT
The materials required for the job will be shifted manually from site store to the site location and it shall be stacked on
site properly without obstructing the access and egress
The work at height activity will be carried by using the Podium Type Scaffold/ladder/Double width scaffold up to
height
Work at height more than 6m will be carried on the scaffolds provided by BAM
All the scaffolds provided by ETA shall be erected,inspected &scafftagged by competent scaffold inspector
before first use & Weekely Inspection shall be done
Full body Harness with shock absorber shall be used if the workers are working at height of more than 6m &
Full body harness without Shock absorber will be used if the work at height below 6m& it will be clipped off to an
secure anchorage point
Double lanyard full body harness shall be used if there is no positive edge protection in the work activity
The 110V portable power tools will be used and shall undergo PAT test in the store before issuing to the site
PAT test will be carried once for every three months interval
Hand tools such as will be visually checked by the store keeper before issuing to site
PPE equipment is to be worn by all persons on site. The minimum requirements are to be safety helmet, high
visibility vest, safety glasses, safety shoes.
Other task specific PPE will be worn when identified by a Risk Assessment
