things around us. If Leo had his lunchbox on the stove, he would have to
tell me its ON the stove.
Explanation/Procedures:
1. Warm Up Activities (Pledge, Warm up song, Calendar
Songs, Patterns)
2. Read Corduroy:
I Do: While reading, get to the first position word and demonstrate it on
the iPad: ex: Corduroy was ON the shelf.
We Do: Go around and have students show up/down with their hands.
Show me up. (students point up). Hold hand up as a visual cue. (Use IPad
for non-verbal students)
You DO: Have students identify position words independently while I read.
I will read a position word and I will pause and ask students He went
WHERE? (students respond in various ways: verbally, Ipad)
Extension: Students will go to centers and can receive individual practice
with the color bear manipulatives.
Elaboration: Practice position words with objects in the classroom.
Closure: Today we learned about our position words.

We learned our words up, down, and on

You did a great job sitting in body check and participating.

your turn part of the lesson.
