A. Title
Enhanced dissolution of meloxicam from orodispersible tablets prepared by
different methods.
B. Summary
This study focuses on how meloxicam dissolves from orodispersible tablets
prepared by two methods, sublimation and freeze drying. The said methods both
improve the porosity in the tableting process. ODTs containing meloxicam were
prepared in order to improve its dissolution rate and hence its oral bioavailability.
C. Conclusion
The results of this work suggests that ODTs of meloxicam with rapid
disintegration time, fast drug release, and good hardness can be successfully
formulated by the use of freeze drying and sublimation methods.
D. Recommendation
Over-the-counter Drugs such as paracetamol and other commonly used drugs
should be dissolved in orally disintegrating tablets for the ease in swallowing solid
oral dosage forms.
