724-850-2072 FAX 724-850-2091 Nichole Owens, Librarian November 14, 2016 To Whom It May Concern: I am writing this letter of recommendation in reference to Lauren Cribbs, candidate for employment at your district. Because I am a high school librarian and not a classroom teacher, I never had the opportunity to have Lauren as a student. For the several years, however, I worked with Lauren while she was a library assistant, and I had the opportunity to coach and sponsor Lauren in the Westmoreland Interscholastic Reading Competition (W.I.R.C.). Currently, Lauren works as a substitute teacher in our district, and I have requested her as my sub throughout the year. As a student at Hempfield High School, Lauren was always very conscientious about her class subjects and worked hard to maintain her GPA. Lauren worked hard in all subjects while juggling a variety of activities. Lauren participated in W.I.R.C., chorus, Honors choir, Latin club, Latin Honors Society, County Choir, and several musicals. As a coach and sponsor of W.I.R.C., I have witnessed the hours of reading and practice that made her an outstanding member of a very competitive team of students. Now that Lauren is a substitute teacher, she is requested often both by myself and other librarians in the district. We know that Lauren will follow the lesson plans and execute them professionally. She goes out of her way to assist with any other tasks that need to be done to help the library run smoothly. She also treats both other teachers and students with such warmth and professionalism that she is well-respected throughout the district. Laurens dedication, warmth, and strong character make her an asset to the district. It is with great confidence that I highly recommend Lauren to be hired as a school librarian. Her dedication, enthusiasm, knowledge, and respect for school librarianship and education will make her an outstanding asset to your school district. If you have any questions about Lauren, please feel free to contact me at the high school (724-433-1470). Sincerely,
