Panakarkandu during pregnancy

I am now 5 month pregnant can I take
panakarkandu?
jv_66 @ Jayanthy
Congrats for your pregnancy friend.As
long as you are not suffering from
Gestational Diabetes, you can take the
panangarkandu.
But why do you want to take this?
Do you have any cough?
Thanks mam. No i dont have diabetes. I
read in dinamalar that replacing sugar
with panakarkandu for milk and tea is
good. So just had this doubt.

jv_66 @ Jayanthy
OK dear...that's good.
But please don't undergo any new tests by
introducing new type of foods during
Pregnancy.
Now, since your body is used to the
regular sugar, you can use the same
sugar, but in a lesser quantity.
Later, after delivery and when your child
is more than 6 months, you can try with
this panangarkandu or anything else.

Child Injury Prevention

Rameshshan @ Ramesh Shanmugam
Article published by WHO

Medicines, poisons, insecticides, bleach,

acids and liquid fertilizers and fuels, such
as paraffin (kerosene), should be stored
carefully out of childrens sight and reach.
Dangerous substances should be stored in
clearly marked containers and never in
drinking bottles. Child-resistant closures,
where available, should be used on the
containers of poisonous products.
Supporting Information
Poisoning is a serious danger to small
children. Bleach, insect and rat poison,
paraffin (kerosene) and household
detergents can kill or permanently injure a
child.
Many poisons can kill, because brain
damage, blind or permanently injure if
they:
Are swallowed
Are inhaled
Get onto the skin
Get into the eyes

should be stored in their original

containers, tightly sealed and out of
childrens reach.
Detergents, bleaches, chemicals and
medicines should never be left where
children can reach them. They should
be tightly sealed and labelled. They
should also be locked in a cupboard or
trunk or put on a high shelf where
children cannot see or reach them.
Medicines meant for adults can kill or
injure small children. Medicine should
only be given to a child if it is
prescribed for that child. It should
never be given to a child if it is
prescribed for an adult or some other
child. A child should never take
medication on his or her own. The
parent or other caregiver should give
the medication to the child each time it
is needed. Medication should be stored
out of reach and sight of children.
Child-resistant closures, where
available, should be used on containers
storing poisonous substances.

The key to preventing poisoning is to keep

harmful substances out of childrens reach.
Poisons should never be put in soft

drink or beer bottles, jars or cups, as

Shredded chicken pieces- 1 cup

Onion- 1 (finely chopped)
tomato - 1 (finely chopped)
Potato French fries - 1 cup (fried)

Mayonnaise- 2tsp
chilli powder1tsp
Salt- to taste
Green chillis- 1 (finely chopped).
Olives- 2 tsp (if you like or if available)

Method:
Here this they make with Kubus (a sort of
chappathi like roti we get in Arabic countries
everywhere. But we can make with our chappathi
too).
The chicken also will be cooked as a whole by
tandoori, they shred and fill it. But we can cook the
bone-less chicken pieces with salt, chilli powder,
ginger-garlic paste, turmeric powder. When it is
well cooked and soft, just shred it to make as small
pieces.
Now take chappathis, spread mayonnaise it.
Make a cone of it and fill with little chicken pieces,
4-5 fried French fries (optional), few pieces of
onion, tomato, green chilli, olives.
Wrap it in butter paper and serve it.

Recipe of the Month

Falafel
...Anbupurush

This is a street food we had when we had been to Dubai.

Ingredients:
For wrap:
Wheat flour cup
Varagu flour cup
Saltt
Oil - 2 tbsp
Water to knead
Knead like chapatti dough with both the
flour. Make chapatti little bigger than
usual.
For filling:
Chick peas - 1 cup(soaked)
Coriander leaves - a handful

Pudhina - a handful
Jeera powder 1tsp
Chilli powder - 1 tsp
Salt
Baking powder tsp
Bread crumbs
To serve:
Cheese, Mayonnaise or sandwich spread
(to our taste) They apply hummus which is
made with chick peas but I did not like the
taste, but my son like the taste) onion,
cucumber

Method:
Grind soaked chick peas with all the ingredients except bread crumbs
very coarsely.
Make small cutlet and dust with bread crumbs and fry like cutlet on tawa.
For wrap:
Take one chappati, apply the mayonnaise or sandwich spread, keep the cutlet press it
little bit, Over it spread cheese, onion, cucumber pieces and wrap it and toss it on hot
tawa title the chappati gets little crispy.
I dont know how they make chapatti, but the wrap is little rough, I tried with Varagu
flour, it came out more or less rough like that. It was very nice and chick peas and
Varagu flour are healthy. I packed this dish often to my daughter as she loves it.

willingly or by compulsion.
My husband helps me here if I am on duty or during
the parties at home. Even that he will not do if we
are in India, they are brought-up like that and even
if they do they will face mocking from other family
members.

Ramyaraj

This type I find in most of the house- that is they

help us when we are abroad because we don't have
any maid or other helps. But back home they escape
saying we have help there. But there are men who
help their wife with all the chores. It is because they
are brought up like that are or they do understand
the difficulties of the women.

.

.

But as a whole great change is there in men's

thinking and the society as a whole. Nobody looks
down on the men if they are doing household chores
like before (15 - 20 yrs.before),in fact they are only
appreciated.

situation. If your hubby is doing lot of physical
work outside like traveling hours to reach office,
work pressure there, traveling back in hectic traffic,
how can you expect such a man to share your
work? Of course, when you are not well, he takes a
day off and looks after you. Please have some
courtesy. That too if you are a home maker, do plan
your things in advance that will save you lot of
time.
So, ladies, if your situation is not so good now,
things will definitely improve. Have patience. And
more important is, please do not compare people.
Some friends here might have given their opinions
like their hubby would do all the works. Might be
they have their work places nearby, might be they
have an understanding manager, may be they do not
have the trouble of traveling like hell to reach
office. Things are different for each of us. Please
don't compare as it will complicate situations.
Everyone has their own blues. Wait for things to
happen.... In their own time.
