Greetings for Our Troops
We will be sending cards, letters, and pictures to our troops overseas. Be sure to follow the guidelines for writing letters and submitting them below. If you have any questions, contact Ms. Patterson by email (email address is below). Write a Card or Letter or Draw a Picture Please follow these tips and guidelines: It is suggested that you not use Dear Soldier, Dear Marine, etc. as it cannot be guaranteed which branch of the military this would go to. Instead use something like Dear Service Member, Hero, Patriot, etc. If you are writing a card or letter, thank them for their hard work, service, dedication, time away from home, etc. If you need help, Google is a great place to start! Tell them a little something about yourself, but do not reveal any personal information (more on that in a minute). Do NOT discuss anything political or controversial in your letter. You can share the name of your school and your first name and you can tell them non-personal things about yourself. You may not give out your address, city, phone number, or email address. Do not include your last name. Do not put individual letters into envelopes. All letters will be screened by military personnel first. You may send in handwritten or typed letters or cards. If you would like to draw or paint, or have younger siblings who would like to participate but cannot yet write a letter, pictures are great as well! Do not use any glitter or foam stickers. Letters and cards must be flat. Regular stickers are fine and encouraged! Every card, letter, or picture must include the following information it somewhere: South Carolina Virtual Charter School Teacher: Michelle Patterson mpatterson@scvcs.org Submission If you are handwriting a card/letter or drawing a picture, please mail them to the following address. Put multiple cards/letters/pictures in one envelope. You can also drop them by the SCVCS office main desk if you are local. Do not put individual items into individual envelopes.
