COURSE DESCRIPTION

Credit: .50 (1 Semester)


Grades: 9,10,11,12
Prerequisite: None
This course is designed to teach students how to create websites for use on
the Internet using basic HTML coding. Students will learn about tables,
frames and linking words and images, and additional HTML applications.
They will develop their skills by designing their own websites, and developing
a variety of other interesting projects. A focus on using real-life applications is
emphasized.
GRADING POLICIES
STUDENTS WILL BE GRADED ON THE FOLLOWING SCALE: 40% FOR QUARTER 1, 40%
FOR QUARTER 2, AND 20% FOR FORMATIVE ASSESSMENTS. POINTS ARE USED WHEN
RECORDING STUDENTS GRADE FOR A FORMATIVE OR SUMMATIVE ASSESSMENT.

MISSING WORK
Students will be able to hand in late course work for the quarter for credit
determined by the teacher. If a student hands in poor quality work or work that
does not meet the criteria of the assignment, the teacher may require the student
to re-submit the assignment until it meets basic standards.
RETAKE POLICY
STUDENTS ARE ABLE TO RETAKE ANY SUMMATIVE OR FORMATIVE ASSESSMENT.
EXPECTATIONS/CLASSROOM MATRIX
-Daily attendance is expected.
-Be ready to start when the bell rings.
-Students are expected to remain in your seat until the dismissal bell rings.
-All students are responsible for finding out what was missed during a day of
absence or field trip.
-Only academic websites are allowed in this room.
-Food or drinks should be placed in backpacks before entering the room.
-Respect for the technology and each other in the room is expected.
-After 3 tardies to class a detention is assigned.
-Be a good listener when someone is giving directions, instructions, has a
question, or is participating in a class discussion.
-Cell phones and iPad activity are not allowed unless the teacher gives you
permission.
*You are encouraged to come in for help, to ask questions, or finish an
assignment.
