Use Shortcut keys
Objectives: At the end of this exercise you shall be able to
view and print a list of shortcut keys in MS Word.
use shortcut keys to work with word documents.
TASK 1: View and Print a List of S hortcut Keys in Microsoft Word
1 Click the View tab on the ribbon
2 Click the M acros button and select View M acros from
the pull down menu.(Refer fig.1)
3 In the "M acros in" dialog box select Word Commands
4 In the M acro Name section, scroll until you find List
Commands and select it
5 Click Run
6 Select Current Keyboard Settings
7 Click OK. This will display the complete list of shortcut keys for M S Word.

TASK 2: Use shortcut keys to work with word documents.


1 Create a new word file for your bio data.
2 Type a paragraph of text.
3 Use shortcut keys to select a single character, a word,
a line and a complete paragraph.xt.
(e.g. Shift+ right arrow, Shift+ right arrow,Ctrl+Shift+right
arrow, Ctrl+Shift+down arrow,
Ctrl+Shift+end)
4 Use shortcut keys to format the text to make it bold,
italic and underline it.
(e.g. Ctrl+b, Ctrl+i,Ctrl+u)
5 Use shortcut keys increase and decrease the font size.
6 Use shortcut keys to highlight the text.

7 Select a word and use shortcut keys to create a


hyperlink on the selected text.
8 Use the shortcut keys to align the paragraph left, right
and center.
9 Use the shortcut keys to set the line spacing to 1.5
lines, double line spacing and again single line spacing.
10 Insert a table to describe your qualifications using only
shortcut keys.
11 Use shortcut keys to save the file.
12 Print the file using shortcut keys.
13 Close the file and word application using shortcut keys.
