Students will reread Nasreens secret, analyze a model paper to depict the main
characteristics of a paper, and then begin to brainstorm their own paragraph about
Nasreens Secret using a graphic organizer.

Instruction

For the struggling readers I will reread the text and stand close to them while giving
directions and check for understanding repeatedly. For more advanced students I will
extend their thinking with a connections question: why is it important for us to learn
about education in other countries (beyond just writing a paragraph, what is the
importance about learning about educational struggles in other countries.

(capitalize, punctuation, topic sentence, conclusion, three supporting
