Abstract

Nowadays everything is trending towards digitization which makes it more difficult to

maintain the integrity of data being transmitted over the internet. Data transferred over the
internet are often destroyed or amended by an intruder before it reaches the recipient. Due to
these actions, an individuals private information is disrupted. Although the sent data are
encrypted, security threats still impose, the data is not hidden, meaning the intruder knows
that the message is encrypted. Hence, with some knowledge and time, the intruder will
eventually decrypt the message to extract the information. We are proposing system that will
allow the user to encrypt and hide information before they store or send it over the web. The
scope of the system will focus on hiding encrypted text in a digital image file. Once the user
receives the image file, they will be able to extract the encrypted message from the image
file, decrypt the encrypted message to receive the original data. An encryption feature is
provided to user to encrypt the message before it is hidden in a cover image.
