Our Mission.

Philosophy & Approach

Healing the Nation - 'One Family At A Time' is an initiative that will serve as a
national response to the suffering of an 'at risk' target group of First Nations'
and Aboriginal Youth and their families.
They continue to suffer from the intra-generational and inter-generational
'pain and hardship' that Canadian history has afforded them, and has put
them 'at risk' and now we must all respond..
The tragedies in 2016 at LaLoche, Saskatchewan and Attawapiskat, Ontario,
brought home that a national response was needed to address the
destructive cycles of addictions, despair and hopelessness that's led to a
crisis of violence and suicides amongst their youth.
Our initiative is an effort to overcome the legacy of Residential Schools
/Abuse, marginalization and exclusion that's resulted from the formation of
reservations across Canada.
We believe that the political will' to control and colonize the
Aboriginal and First Nations' Peoples must now be more convincing
to bring about their 'healing & restoration'.

Our Mission:
is to respond to the tragic legacies afforded the Aboriginal & First Nations' Peoples of Canada
by providing a format for 'Youth and Elders' to implement an integrated, 'holistic'
rehabilitation program entitled Healing the Nation - 'One Family At A Time'.

Our Philosophy:
We believe that the formal apology by the federal government in 2008, to
the First Nations' Peoples of Canada for the legacy of residential schools and the
rampant abuse the children who attended there, is the first step to
acknowledge the truth of this dark period.

Our Approach:
Within the context of a personal development and professional training
program, the youth and Elders will be trained to facilitate the 5 areas of
needs that must be met before positive change for the individual and their
family can be recognized and enjoyed.

The counselling & rehabilitation services offered within the context of this
program will assist each participant to recognize their behaviors in terms of
personal and collective losses.
In recognizing them, they are now empowered to grieve them and realize
their full potential, breaking the harmful and destructive cycles that they
were caught in.
