A Report On A Visit To The Library Of SMK Teluk Kanan(F2)

A group of 40 students (C2) from the Board of Librarians visited the library of SMK Teluk
Kanan on 21 April 201- (C1). The purpose of the visit was to learn from the remarkable Board of
Librarians of the school on how to provide wonderful and efficient service to the school
population in the library. I, (name), the Head Librarian, (F3) was instructed to write a report for
our esteemed Principal, (Name) (F1).
The library of SMK Teluk Kanan boasting of some outstanding special physical feature such
as fascinating mini museum (C3), a comfortable reading areas (C4), stunning and colourful
murals (C5) and a well-equip computer room. (C6) The mini museum is features the appealing
history of the school complete with old photo of ex-students and teacher in the school. A LCD
monitor is also install to present a video of the celebrated history of the prestigious school. The
cosy reading area is furnished with adequate sofas and bean bags for students to read in
comfort. The walls of the library are astonishingly paint with mesmerizing murals depict/show
the achievement of the student of the school in various field. Lastly, the state-of-the-art
computer room offered 20 computers complete with Internet access for the students convenient
when do research works for their school assignments. We were impressed by these amazing
physical features of the library.
The Board of Librarians is provides excellent service to the school. Their librarian was
organized informative exhibition (C7) on the history of book. The students learn about the
development of writing, and various others inventions such as paper and printing and the modern
day business of book printing. The students were appreciated the important of books in the
history of mankind. Then a book fair (C8) of the latest fiction book and reference books held in
school hall with the support of the local bookshops and major publishers. This popular exhibition
is an annual affair eagerly awaited by students. A story-telling contest (C9) organize by the
Board of Librarians was keenly participate by the enthusiastic students who imaginatively
engaged the audience with their enthralling interactive art of using words and actions to reveal
the elements and images of a story while encourage the audiences imagination. We watching
the video recording of the contest in rapt attention, captivated by the amazing performance of
the contestants. A monthly bulletin (C10) is produce by the Board of Librarians for the students
to read. This monthly bulletin displayed on their notice board for the students perusal. They will
learning the various activities of the library and the latest books, magazines and reference books
available in the library for the students. Hence, the Board of Librarians serve the school
remarkably.
We learnt much from our counterparts on how to improve our library services.
Furthermore, we aiming to conduct more informative visit to other school of excellence. I think
we can emulate the Board of Librarians of SMK Teluk Kanan to provide better and enhanced
service to our students. Firstly, we can provided more computer in the library for our students to
use especially for the research and typing of their assignments. (C11) Then we should offering
printing service of their assignments (C12) by install printer and charged the students a nominal
fee for the service. This marvellous service will be of a great help to the poor students who not
have access to such equipments at home. Also, this much needed service offer tremendous
convenient to our students. I hope my two suggestions will look into by the school authorities.
Our Board of Librarians will glad help the school to provide a better service to our students and
teachers.
