The saxophone is an admirable instrument, a source of prolific inspiration with

dazzling possibilities.

Piece is incredibly technically demanding

In 4 movements each showcasing different aspects of technique, structure
and form.
As well as this she has wrote many other works 2 concertos, quartets,
various chamber music with piano and solo pieces, also incorporating
saxophone into her orchestral work.
Written for Solo de Concours at PC
Only of only two people who has been asked to wrote numerous times for
this competition

To include the saxophone in the repertoire of the orchestra; it is a way to impose

and defend it and to enrich its own repertoire.

Historical impact on this has lead onto other things such as current
composers writing more works for saxophone incorporated into orchestra.
This piece has stood alone in core saxophone repertoire. As one of her first
compositions for saxophone I feel it stands as an indicator into what was a
new era of saxophone writing.
Her influence can be traced back through time to the beginning of the
saxophone itself with marcel mule.
I feel without her influence and continued writing and advocating for the
saxophone the music and musicians we have today would not exist.
She has had a great historical impact on the saxophone that has stood the
test of time till today.
