ASSIGNMENT 2 (Individual Work)

OBJECTIVE
This assignment provides you with an opportunity to demonstrate your ability in planning a
quantitative research. You are entrusted to implement an intervention to improve learning in
an academic subject at school or higher institution of learning.
The assignment comprises TWO related tasks, the details of which are explained below:

Task 1
Identify a research topic that you can work on based on your readings and literature review.
Provide an appropriate title and a Statement of the Problem for the intended research.
(10 marks)
Task 2
In this task, you are required to describe and explain the methodology of your intended
research in Task 1, focusing on the following sections:
(1) Review of literature (list the sub-topics that you may want to include and not
the full review of literature)
(2) Research design
(3) Population and sample
(4) Instrumentation
(5) Data collection procedures
(6) Framework of data analysis
You can refer to the HMEF5093 Quantitative Research Methodology module, Topic 10:
Writing the research report, as a guide to write the different sections.

(40 marks)
