A key aspect of teaching is evaluation or assessment; it is hard to show student
progress and knowledge without it. Teachers in the past have mainly used testing as a form of assessment, but alternative forms of testing are more practical. Alternative assessments promote creativity and show that teachers understand that students learn differently therefore they should be assessed differently. In an article by Hill, it is stated, Because children learn differently and are at different developmental stages, a one size-fits-all assessment measure does not work. Multidimensional assessment means evaluating students on a broader concept of intellectual ability and learning (2005). In a later study conducted by Kirikkaya and Vurkaya, It was observed that the students of the experimental group scored higher than the students of the control group. This finding might be interpreted in a way that the alternative assessment activities that were performed had a positive impact on students achievement (2011). Alternative assessments promote individuality and allow students to perform at their best because the assessment can be writing a paper to creating a project. The alternative form allows students who do not take typical tests well to show their knowledge.
