A Note from Mr. Field:

Thankful for our Paraprofessionals!

Dear Parents,
Its hard to believe (especially with this warm weather) that Thanksgiving is
just around the corner next week! This is the time of year when we pause and
reflect on all of the things that we are so thankful for. One group of people that
our staff is so grateful for, that parents dont often get a chance to meet, are our
exceptional paraprofessional staff. We
are blessed to have paraprofessionals
that academically support our special
education students as well as
instructional parapros who play a vital
role in supporting math and reading
instruction. These dedicated educators
work tirelessly with both small and
large groups to help each child to
receive instruction at their level in our
math and reading Super Switch time.
The collaboration that takes place
between our teachers and our
paraprofessionals is daily example of
our school theme that our staff works
better together to meet the needs of
all of our students.

Thankful for your Partnership!

It was wonderful to have the opportunity to sit down with you this week at Parent Teacher
Conferences. Our goal in communicating with you through progress reports, report cards, and parent/teacher conferences is to share with you
specific information on how your child is progressing in all aspects of their school experience. We know that each child in our school is a
unique individual with his/her own learning style and pace and our goal as a staff is to provide each student with specific targeted daily
instruction at their level (ex. Reading and Math SuperSwitch) Thank you for making the time this week (and every week!) to partner with us in
educating your child. Its been said that it takes a village and we are so thankful for YOU and the important role you play in our village.

Have a wonderful weekend,

From the Gym:

During the month of November, the elementary schools in Hudsonville take part in our annual PE C.A.R.E.S. Non-perishable
food drive. Over the years, the students in our Physical Education classes have helped countless members of our
community who have been in need. At Park Elementary with our school theme #PESbettertogether our efforts as a whole
school have increased! The students at Park have discovered that when we act as a large group, the difference that can be
made is much larger!! When we consider that all of our elementary schools in HPS are doing the same thing that we are
here at Park, the difference that we can make is pretty spectacular. The students at Park have set their goals for the food
drive higher than ever before. Last year we had a little over 2,000 items brought in, the students have set their sights on
breaking that record and setting a new all-time-high. We know they will give it their all because Park Kids know that we are
#PESbettertogether! If your family or someone you know in the community is in need and could use some of the food items
we collected please call Mrs. Lidgard.

SNOW DAY PROCEDURE FOR HOT LUNCH ~ With snow just around the corner, the food service program would like to remind parents and
students about what will happen if school is closed due to weather. If the district is closed, the menu that was supposed to be served on the
snow day will be moved to the next school day. An example: if school is canceled on Tuesday due to weather, Tuesdays menu will be served on
Wednesday and the menu that was scheduled for Wednesday will be completely canceled. Because of our computer lunch account system,
there will be no need to issue credits and your student will still be able to order a lunch if they need one. The only exception to this policy is if
school is canceled on Friday. In this case, Fridays menu will be completely canceled and we will continue with the regular menu on Monday.
Information on what menu will be served on the day you return will be available on Twitter or the foodservice web page at www.jenhudfood.org.
Please feel free to contact the food service department at 457-2400 if you have any questions or are unsure of what the menu will be.
Thank you! ~ Stacey L. Wykoski, Food Service Director
