TASK 6: Impact on Student Learning Template (Expand template as needed)

After teaching the unit, reflect on all of the evidence you have collected for each objective and complete the template. After studying the overall
pre-assessment and post-assessment data and the total gains (+) or losses (-), make a professional judgment on whether each objective was met
in the unit you taught.

Focus Student 1 is student 15 in the chart and graphs.

Objective 1- The student scored low on the pre assessments, knowing only several of the topics presented. By the end of
the unit, he knew of almost all of them.
Objective 2- He did not submit his pre assessment. I attempted many times to get him to turn it in, but failed. Through
observation I was able to tell he was making progress, but ultimately did not meet mastery.
Objective 3- His pre assessment was at mastery level, however his post assessment was not. This was not due in part to
the content of his work, but small mistakes such as typos and organization.
Focus Student 2 is student 2 in the chart and graphs.
Objective 1- The pretest showed the student was only familiar with one fourth of the content, but had mastered almost all
of the content.
Objective 2- The student scored 68% on the pre test and increased his score by 19% on the posttest, expressing mastery.
Objective 3- He scored twice as high on the pretest as the posttest. Again, this was because he only submitted one
document out of the four that were required in the final submission.
Both students showed growth for the first two objectives, however recessed on the third objective. The third objective
focused more on independent work than collaborative groups, besides the peer review exercise. I think this may have
contributed to the lower scores. Student 1 nearly reach mastery for objective 1 but fell short by 2%, this was still a good
accomplishment though.
The majority of the class did reach mastery for objectives 1 and 2. However only half of the class received a mastery
score for objective 3. All of the zeros however did not submit a paper. I have repeatedly reminded them and we worked on
the paper for over a week in class. Also, through conferencing, I know all the students had a good start on the paper. Both

my cooperating teacher and myself are baffled as to why they didnt turn in any work. Overall though, the majority of the
class showed growth for each objective, unless they did not submit work.
