1. When the Wind Stops
By: Charlotte Zolotow
This book is good to use when talking about the weather. This is a story
about a mother and son who are on an adventure together and her son has
many questions about the wind and what happens when it blows. This book
also explains why it rains and what happens to the wind after it blows by
you. I found this to be very engaging when talking about the different types
of weather.
2. Goodbye Summer Hello Autumn

This book is good to read when returning to school. Its about a little

This book is about a caterpillar that turns into a butterfly. This is a
great book to read during spring and summer when talking about all the

caterpillars change and when during the year they start to change.

This book is about a little pumpkin that was a lot different than the
other pumpkins and often got made fun of because of it. But he proved that
being different was a good thing when he saved the day! This is a great book

to read during Halloween. This can be good to introduce the fall and what
happens during fall and that Halloween takes place during it.
7. The Tooth Fairys Christmas
By: Peter Bently
This book is a great picture book and story that can be read during the
winter and before Christmas break comes! Its about the tooth fairy getting
lost on Christmas Eve and Santa coming to the rescue to save her! This is
good to read when talking about winter so that students get the concept of
Christmas being during the winter season.
8. No Rain Today
By: Kristen Iten
This book is about a cloud that everyone gets mad at because its been
raining and no one likes the rain. So the little cloud tries to help everyone
and make them happy but gets himself in trouble when he does. This book is
a good way to talk about rain and why it has to rain and what happens
during this kind of weather. This could be a good way to introduce the rainy
spring time to the class.
9. Sand Castle
By: R. A. Montgomery
This book is a book that lets children use their imaginations. This can
be a good one to read when talking about summer and taking a trip to the
beach. The book sets up a story that allows the child to finish it the way he
or she wants. It lets them use their imaginations and talk about how they
would save their sand castle during a storm on the beach. This could be a
good way to let the students share their vacation stories.
10.

This is a good book to read about winter. It explains all the activities
you can do in the snow. Throughout the book it shows two kids playing,
running, and learning about snow. One page explains all the types of
snowflakes and what happens when they fall. It also explains what happens
to some animals during the winter as well. It can also be a good book to
demonstrate the appropriate clothing to wear during the winter so you dont
get sick.
