Artifact Title: Two Minute Relationship Builder

Description of the artifact and how it meets the standard and criteria:
This artifact is a strategy that I used with a student in my classroom. It is called the 2
minute relationship builder. I spent two minutes per day for 10 days with a student that
was struggling in the classroom. This meets this standard because it is creating a
positive learning community in our classroom. It also it encouraging positive social
interaction between the student and myself. This has helped this student and I build a
positive relationship which is helping this student in class because she knows that I, as
her teacher, truly care about her and am willing to help her be successful.
Reflection on the artifact:
I think this strategy has worked great with this student. She was new to Bondurant this
year, and comes from a rough background. I really wanted her to know, from the start,
that here at Anderson the teachers care about their students and want them to be
successful. By giving her this time every morning she is becoming more comfortable in
class and not acting out. She is now showing Bondurants BEST most of the day and I
think this strategy has had a great impact on her attitude in class and toward school in
general. It has helped her and I build a great relationship where she knows that I care
about her and want her to be successful.
