No Tutoring the week of Thanksgiving

The I-Ready math test is coming up on


November 28th and 29th. This is a district
wide test given 3 times a year. This will
be the second test. Please help your
child prepare by making sure they come
to school well rested on those days. We
appreciate all the effort you put forth to
help make them successful every day.

11/23 to 11/25 Thanksgiving Break


11/28 School Resumes
Reading / Language Arts:
We are going to spend the next week working on
text evidence. Students will read a piece of fiction
text and work to find evidence that supports
questions posed while reading. This is a huge skill
presented on the end of year MAP test.

Students will be preparing for their post-informative


test. They will work on adding text features, endings,
making edits and using their rubrics to guide their
essays.

PBiS Lesson this week:


This week the focus for PBiS is on being safe, respectful, and responsible in the hallway. The
expectations we have for being safe, respectful, and responsible in the hallway are; walk forward in
your personal space and level 0 voice (no talking) unless teacher directed, then it can be a level 1.
In addition, stay to the right and keep up with the group. Watch for others. Go and get back. We
know all children can be problem solvers in the hallway and figure out what the expectations are.
Please talk with your child at home on ways they can be safe, respectful, and responsible in the

Science/Social Studies:
This week is social studies. Students will be
learning about American Indians. Ms. Wessel has
brought in a few items from her family collection.
Be sure to ask about the items they learned about
this week.

Dont Forget!
Bring back the Scholastic
book order form to Ms.
Wessel by the 15th!

Math:
Students will be taking the I-Ready test on
November 28th and 29th. They will learn about
area and perimeter the rest of the week.

Fundations:
Students will be learning 4 new vowel teams in Unit 15 (oo,
ou, ue, and ew). Unit 15 trick words will also be going home
this week to practice at home. The practice is not required
but suggested.
