Manufacturing - Continuous Improvement Facilitator

Reporting Responsibility: Manufacturing Team Leader


STATEMENT OF DUTIES/OBJECTIVES/DELIVERABLES:
Act as the strategic and hands on internal resource to facilitate the vision, execution and
communications of Continuous Improvement processes (i.e. Overall Equipment Effectiveness,
Preventive Maintenance Optimization, TQM/QCDSM). This includes managing manufacturing
data analysis the planning/scheduling of production, manufacturing data analysis and
OEE/PMO implementation. This position supports the production of safe, high quality products
and team member safety. Trained in the importance of Food Safety (HACCP) and
demonstrates knowledge of the Critical Control Points (CCPs).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Essential functions of the job include, but are not limited to:
Actively search, design and implement effective methods to educate and enhance
organization performance.
Effectively identify, design and coordinate training solutions for team members as it relates
to continuous improvement and performance.
Coordinate training schedules and evaluate applicable outside training resources.
Lead the TQM/QCDSM (Quality, Cost, Delivery, Safety, Morale) continuous improvement
system across all manufacturing departments.
Coach leadership on all aspects of the TQM/QCDSM, OEE & PSM systems
Train and engage team members in the TQM/QCDSM, OEE & PSM systems
Continue to build upon the following tools of TQM/QCDSM, OEE and PSM:
Process Control Tools (SPC)
Problem Solving
Meeting Effectiveness
Six Sigma
Good Manufacturing Practices
Detailed Process Sheets (task / work standardization)
Near Miss data
QCDSM Essentials
Try Z

Manufacturing Continuous Improvement Facilitator (Continued)

Database development: collect and maintain data to assist with determining gaps and trends
in decision making
Work on continuous improvement initiatives to engage all team members
Understand equipment and process reliability sciences and utilize these methods to assist in
improving maintenance effectiveness, and equipment optimization or replacement.
Work closely with the Manufacturing Team Leader and peer leaders to coordinate and
execute the needs of the business and customers, as well as the needs of the internal team
members.

Requirements:

BS/BA degree in business or engineering preferred


Willingness to learn the Facilitator (Supervisor) position
Experience or knowledge of working with and implementing various continuous
improvement tools and methodologies (i.e. lean, six sigma, SPC, etc.).
Change agent with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
Strong statistical experience or education.
Demonstrated facilitation and presentation skills.
Entrepreneurial spirit.
Strong team orientation and beliefs.
Well organized and resourceful.
Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint).
Strong written, interpersonal and listening skills.
Excellent problem solving skills.
Willingness to learn and educate/teach.
Ability to work flexible hours across three shifts.
