The market ended on a negative note on Tuesday. The market breadth


was negative with 6 losers for every gainer on BSE. 352 shares
advanced whereas 2360 shares declined and 33 shares were
unchanged on BSE.
BSE Sensex declined 514 points or 1.9% to close at 26305. Nifty 50 lost
188 points or 2.3% to settle at 8108. BSE Mid-Cap index declined 487
points or 3.9% to end at 11977. BSE Small-Cap index fell 583 points or
4.7% to settle at 11902.
Top gainer in BSE Sensex were SBI (1.9%), Wipro (1.5%), Dr Reddys
Labs (1.5%), ONGC (0.9%) and TCS (0.8%) whereas top loser in BSE
were Tata Motors (9.9%), Tata Steel (7.8%), Asian Paints (7.4%), Maruti
Suzuki (5.7%) and Axis Bank (3.9%).
US markets closed positive, Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at
18923, advancing 54 points (0.29%), S&P 500 advanced 16 points
(0.75%) to close at 2180 and Nasdaq advanced 57 points (1.10%) to
close at 5276.
European markets closed positive, FTSE advancing by 40 points (0.59%)
to close at 6793, CAC was up 28 points (0.62%) to close at 4537 and
DAX advanced 41 points (0.39%) to close at 10735.

Macro News

WPI inflation eased to 3.39 per cent in October from 3.57 per cent
in September as food items became cheaper. The index of food
articles group declined by 0.3 per cent due to lower price of
pulses and fruits and vegetables. CPI inflation for the month of
Otober eased to 14 month low of 4.2 per cent from 4.31 per cent
in September.

According to property consultant Colliers International, Indias


total property transaction volume over the first nine months of
2016 fell by 42% YoY to $1.40 billion, despite high level of interest
shown by institutional investors. For Q3 2016, the total
investment volume dropped by 82% to $192 million. It expects
transaction volumes to go down in real estate sector in the near
term and foresee downward pressure on prices especially in land
and secondary market transactions.

According Willis Towers Watson, salaries in India are projected to


rise 10 per cent in 2017, same as the actual increase in 2016.
