Classroom Learning Profile based on observations and data

Use readings and EDUC 202 self-reflection assignments from the past to describe your placement class:
Nieto & Bode; Understanding Culture Brief; Hoeksema; Pearson 202 custom textbook; Barringer, Pohlman, & Robinson
Culture is very diverse. Black culture, Indian culture, Muslim culture, Chinese culture, and white
culture are all present in the classroom.
Culture

Race & Ethnicity

There are four black students, two students from India (one of them are born in the US), one from a
Muslim family, one from China, one probably from Middle East, and around eleven white students.
(This is just a rough picture. )

Some students families hurt. Some students families are good.

Some students are from Christian families. Some parents put their kids in Mrs. Ds classroom because
Mrs. D is a Christian. One parent even told Mrs. D that she prays for her everyday. Some students are
from families of other religions.
Moral, Spiritual, and
Faith Development

Most students respect the teacher and other students, except one student (Bob) who has Autism
symptoms.

Attention & Memory

Most of the students focus well. Bob struggles with being able to pay attention. Gabe
struggles with keeping focusing for a certain period of time.

Language

There are English Language Learners. Most of them are at higher levels. My teacher says that
probably they dont need extra support. But I do feel that one student (Mia) does need me to explain
more because of language barrier.

Motor &
Spatial/Sequential
Ordering

A student has difficulty in graphomotor skills. Some students have dyslexia.

Higher Order Thinking

Some students can really reason well. Some students do not catch on as quickly.

There is one student who has cerebral palsy. (He has an aide with him all day long.)
Ability & Disability

Another student has a lot of Autism symptoms.
