Dear Balu,

Hope this letter finds you in the best of your health and happiness.
I am under shock with the expenses mentioned in connection with the
construction. In the previous bill given to me during the month of November
2010, you owe me Rs.4,57,790/- After that, you have received Rs.4,92,000/from me. This amount tallies with the latest bill given to me as balance
RS.9,49,790/-.
During November 2010, you said that the remaining work could be
completed in a month. The cost for completing the remaining work could be
around Rs.5,00,000/- .
After November 2010, there was almost no work done till I was hospitalized
in July 2011. From August onwards, the actual work started and I was paying
you for all the work whenever you asked me to pay. Your account also tallies
with that as Rs.4,92,000/-. As you are aware, I went with you and purchased
marbles for Rs.7,00,000/- and electrical fittings, fans and lights for
Rs.1,50,000/-. Then I went with you to buy all the plumbing materials from
Parryware. I had to engage electrician from outside. I had also engaged
services of carpenter for the left over work because your men were not
available. Your electrician and plumber came for 3 or 4 days after November
2010. I had spent sufficient amount for laying bricks over the roof.
I am not at all happy with the inferior quality of material used for wooden
cup boards and the locks and keys of the doors.
I am unable to understand the expenses of Rs.17,61,937/- spent by you
during a span of 7 months when no work was carried out. This works out to
an average of Rs.2,50,000/- per month. Both of us know very well that you
have no source of income to spend Rs.2,50,000/- per month for my work.
Your conscious will agree with me for this.
I would like to respect our friendship of 25 years and continue to maintain
good relationship with you. I have spent a lot of amount for my medical
treatment. I am retiring from the service in 4 months. I have a major expense
in the form of marriage of my daughter. Otherwise, I would not have
bothered to pay you the amount in view of our 25 years of friendship.
Now that I have to bear all the expenses mentioned above at my retiring
stage, I am asking you to check the expenses once again and inform me at
your earliest. It appears to me that some of the expenses are for your own

construction work, mistakenly written as mine. In fact, I was expecting

around Rs.5,00,000/- due from you. Therefore, please check once again
thoroughly and prepare the expenses from November 2010 to November
2011. I am sure that we can work out this with the mutual trust we have
been maintaining for 25 years. I pray God for his blessings to you and to your
family.
