On behalf of the African Union and AMISOM, I would like to
congratulate the people of South West but also the Somali
community, for organising this election where we have seen them
fulfill the seat for women and and i also congratulate the women
candidates who have been contesting for this seat and the winner
that got 26 votes out of the 51 people that voted, and the others for
accepting defeat. We are building a very good electoral culture in
Somalia. People contest, the victor takes it with humility and those
who lose, take it with grace and we then provide leadership for
Somalia. It is good to see Somalis vote leaders into office in a
peaceful and stable environment; that why AMISOM and the African
Union are in Somalia. We are very happy that we are contributing to
this process,
