1. What is the full form of RO?
ans: (reverse osmosis)
2. What is the full form of TMP alarm?
ans: trans membrane pressure
3. Dialyzer is also called as artificial kidney?
4. What is lower vein alarm?
ans: when there is not enough blood flow from the AVF or DLC ,lower
vein alarms
5. What has to be done to the machine after each use?
ans: hot disinfection
6. Which solution is used for preserving the dialyzer?
ans: Puresteril
7. Which chemical solution is used to do hot disinfection of the machine?
ans: citosteril
8. What solution is used to clean dialyzer before using it for the patient?
ans: Normal saline
9. How will you prepare sodium bicarbonate solution?
ans: 10 liters of RO water + 1 packet (662gm) of bicarbonate powder
10. What are the complications during dialysis?
ans: hypotension, hypoglycemia, painful muscle cramps, infections,
ischemia of the hand, Aneurysms or pseudo aneurysms, Air
embolism,etc
11.What will you do when lower vein alarms?
ans: adjust the arterial vein.
12.What will you do when air detector alarms?
ans: release the clamp and remove the air with syringe
13.What will you do when TMP alarms?

ans: flush with normal saline


14.What is the difference between peritoneal dialysis and hemodialysis?
ans: Hemodialysis uses a man-made membrane (dialyzer) to filter
wastes and remove extra fluid from the blood. Peritoneal dialysis uses
the lining of the abdominal cavity (peritoneal membrane) and a solution
(dialysate) to remove wastes and extra fluid from the body.
15.What are the solutions used during dialysis?
ans: haemodialydis solution part A conc. sodium bicarbonate
solution part B ---sodium bicarbonate
