Dear Parents/Carers of Year 5 children,
Junior Carol Service Wednesday 14th December
In this years Carol Service, we have chosen to sing the carol Christmas Never Comes
which reminds us to think about others who may not be as fortunate as ourselves. The carol
fits well with the current book we are studying in English (Street Child) which tells the
story of a homeless boy, Jim Jarvis, in Victorian times.
For the Carol Service, we would be very grateful if your child is able to come dressed as a
poor, ragged Victorian boy/girl. This does not need to be anything specially acquired
instead, at its simplest it could be a white shirt/polo shirt, dark trousers or skirt and some
dark polish, eyeliner/crayon/mascara, etc. for their face. Other items could include a cap,
bonnet, shawl, waistcoat, braces, etc. however, please do not go to any additional
expense or take too much time organising this, as we appreciate how busy everyone is at
this time of year.
Thank you for your cooperation. If you have any questions, please ask!
Yours sincerely,
Mr. Sherwin and Mr. Moat.
