Dear Parents/Guardians,
It was lovely to meet many of you last Wednesday at our first South Pointe Advisory Council
meeting. At that meeting we shared some of the expectations of an advisory group and
discussed the importance it plays in helping to build a strong home-school connection.
We would like to invite all interested parents/guardians in attending a second meeting to
determine our executive committee. While all parents of South Pointe students are considered
to be a part of the advisory council, we require specific roles to be filled to function effectively.
We will meet in the Bairdmore School music room on Wednesday, November 30th from 6:007:00 pm.
Please come prepared to nominate yourself or another parent (the person must be in
attendance) for the following roles:
1) Chair/co-chair (plans meeting agendas, coordinates communication
2) Treasurer (manages financial affairs, provides financial statements)
3) Secretary (records and communicates meeting minutes)
Possible Sub Committees:
a) Fundraising (coordinates efforts of fundraising committee a play structure!)
b) Volunteer (coordinates volunteers for various school activities)
c) Hot lunch (coordinates ordering, payment and organization of hot lunches at school)
d) Members at large (share ideas, help as needed with various committees)
e) Other
We look forward to seeing you on November 30th. We have invited an experienced past PAC
president to help us with the voting process. Please feel free to forward any questions to us. We
anticipate working together with you to help create a collaborative, effective learning community!
