Week 2.

Teaching without MST
This is my second week of attending the school. It was a really hard week although it is just the
second week of my teaching practicum. I had to teach 4 back to back lessons for three days,
after discussing with my MST. One of them was when my MCT came to write my first
observation report. After the lesson, my MCT gave me her feedback of my lesson, which are
going to be helpful for my next teaching plans. Although, my MCT gave a really good feedbacks,
still I felt like I didnt do well, and didnt be prepared. And like what she said, I had to relax and
enjoy teaching the lesson, but how could I do that where the students were very loud, and that
was the first time that they did because it was not like that 2 days before. The days after that
day, I noticed that the students were being naughty only when there are another teacher in the
room.
Although there was supposed to be another teacher with me, since my MST had to go to a
practical program, but I found myself teaching on my own without any accompany of other
teacher. So, it was a really big challenge from the very beginning of this week. However,
teaching the children without being observed by other teachers was really comfortable, and the
class wasnt as loud as when there was someone who is sitting at the back. I think that when
someone is with me in the class, I would be a little bit nervous because sometimes I get
confused all of a sudden and dont know what I should do if someone was with me. Because of
that, I had to think quickly and I remembered what my MST did in the previous week, which is
holding the black dots up, to show that she is going to stick up one for someone who is being
naughty, and all of a sudden they become quiet, I did the same and it did work.
At the same time, I started doing week 2 task, which is about classroom manipulatives. Because
the room was recently painted the manipulatives where moved to another room, and there
wasnt any manipulative but the small disks, since this week we needed to use them for the
lessons that I currently was teaching. Also, most of the activities for this week depends on
them.
