This document describes an astringent skin lotion and its components and production process. The lotion is an aqueous or alcoholic preparation containing insoluble materials intended for external application without rubbing to treat conditions like itching, infection, and pain. Key components include lactic acid, alum, and glycerol which are protein precipitants that act as astringents on the skin surface and pores to reduce size and sweating. The production process involves heating water and alum, cooling, adding other components like alcohol and lemon oil in portions with stirring, then adding water and colorant and filtering if needed.
