1. What requirements must you meet in order to study abroad? (i.e. GPA, etc.)

You need a cumulative GPA of 2.75 for semester or year-long programs.

You need a cumulative GPA of 2.50 for summer programs (GPA is at time of application and at
time of departure).

You have to at least be a sophomore standing during term abroad.

You cannot be in the last semester of your degree program.

You need approval of the Office of International Programs and your department.

2. What are the three (3) different types of study abroad programs available to students?
-

Exchange is a study abroad program.

Direct Study Abroad is a study abroad program.

Faculty-Led is a study abroad program.

3. What are the deadlines for applying for study abroad?


-

The first deadline is in Spring on October 14.

The second deadline is in the Summer on March 15.

The third deadline is in the Fall on March 15.

4. What are three different ways that you can raise money to fund your trip?
-

Financial Aid is an option for financing your trip.

Scholarships are another option for financing your study abroad trip.

Fellowships are also an option for financing your trip abroad.

5. Name two (2) scholarships that can fund you for your trip and how you meet the requirements?
- Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship: I am an undergraduate receiving the federal pell
grant.
- AIFS NAFEO Scholarships: I attend an HBCU.
6. Where would you like to travel to for your study abroad experience and why?
-

I would like to go to Cape Town, South Africa. I just want to experience Africa at least once in
my lifetime.

7. Does A&T offer this as an option? If not, then what would be your second choice destination?
- It does offer a study abroad program in South Africa, not sure if theres one specifically in Cape
Town. If I had to choose a second destination, Id pick Argentina in South America.
