Study Abroad
During the Study Abroad presentation, they talked about the eligibility requirements are
having a cumulative GPA of 2.75 for semester or year-long programs, also a 2.50 for summer
programs. You must at least be sophomore to study abroad. In order to study abroad you must get
approval from the Office of International Programs and your departments. The purpose of
studying abroad is to take a series of courses overseas, which you will receive a transcript from
the overseas university. If you do a faculty-led program it is basically organized or accompanied
by an NCAT faculty member. If you do a Direct Study Abroad it is administered by an
organization offering study abroad support services such as American Institute for Foreign
Studies (AIFS). Or you can Exchange provides students an affordable way to participate in study
abroad and they pay tuition and fees at their home university and not at the host university. Aggie
students can study in over 60 countries and they can choose to live in a home stay with a family,
in a residence hall, or an apartment near the university. Students have the option of taking
electives, language courses, and core classes at the host institution. Then you would have to meet
up with your academic advisor about your course selection. When it comes to financial aid, it is
determined on the total cost of any study abroad program which includes air fare and personal
expenses based on official program budgets provided by OIP. FASFA should be submitted by the
end of February of the year prior to when the program starts. Aid recipients are expected to enroll

as full-time students. If you dont maintain full time status, awards may be cancelled or adjusted
and you may be expected to repay financial aid disbursed to you. An undergraduate would need
to be registered for twelve or more hours and nine or more credit hours per semester hour if
youre a graduate. For summer programs, students must earn a total of six credit hours for
financial aid eligibility. Theres a list of scholarships such as the Benjamin A. Gilman
International Scholarship, Council for International Educational Exchange, and The Critical
Language Scholarship Program.
