William Bradley (Brad) Pitt was born in Oklahoma. He was the oldest of three children. He
went to Kickapoo High School, where he was a good student. After high scchool, he went to
the University of Missouri to study journalism.
But Bradd didnt really want to be a journalist; he want to act in movies. So, two weeks before
college graduation, he got in his car and drove to Hollywood.
Success did not come immediately. For several years, Brad did odd jobs to make money. In
one job, for a fast-food restaurant, he dressed up as a giant chicken! Like many other young
actors, he also worked as a chauffeur, driving limousines around Los Angeles. In his free time,
he took acting classes.
Finally, at age 25, Brad got the role he needed: He was JD in the
movie Thelma and Louise. This helped him start his new career. Other
movies, such as Legends of the Fall and Twelve Monkeys, soon followed.
Now hes one of the hottest young stars in Hollywood. Hes famous for
his good looks. He can get 8 million dollars for one movie.
In real life, Pitt is a private person. He gives very few interviews. I
dont know anything about my favorite actors, he once told an
interviewer. And I dont want people to know about me.
