To whom it may concern,
I am writing to express my interest in acquiring my Masters Degree in Instructional Technology at Kennesaw
State University. I am committed to continuous learning and implementing best practices in the classroom.
Technology has become a passion of mine since Ive started teaching. Planning interactive lessons encourages
my students and myself to expand on our understanding of 21st century skills.
I currently teach in a school system that supports personalized learning. In my kindergarten classroom, I plan
activities that allow for student choice and pull from a variety of teaching strategies. Those strategies include
use of adaptive software, interactive board lessons, online portfolios, web based communication, virtual field
trips, video read alouds, and more. Throughout my time in Fulton County, I have had many opportunities for
professional development. Last year I was accepted into the Vanguard Team where members support other
educators in the use of technology to transform teaching and learning. Being a member of the Vanguard Team
has inspired me and given me the confidence as a teacher leader. This year I am the grade chair for my team. I
work to collaborate with the kindergarten teachers and lead them in developing their own confidence in
technology implementation. I am proud of my experiences, and I am looking forward to other opportunities
that challenge me as a leader.
I would be of value to your Spring cohort, for my experience in primary grades offers a different perspective to
learning instructional technology strategies. Im ready to gain more educational experience and to develop into
well rounded educator. You may contact me anytime at (404) 545-7855; or by email at
romeh@fultonschools.org . Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Hannah Rome
