Reflection (10).

In my fifth lesson which was Phonics W. I taught this lesson during my teaching practice at
RAK Academy on November 15, 2016, through 20 minutes. The lesson was for foundation stage,
two students. They are ten boys and thirteen girls.
Firstly, the aim of the lesson was to teach the students how to pronounce the phoneme (W)
correctly, so I started the lesson and I say Yesterday someone came to room and knocked the
door and said hi my name is MRS. W and I want to attend your class tomorrow. Secondly, I
practice with the students the way that they should pronounce and write the letter, and I provided
examples of pictures and they gave me examples of words that starts with letter W such as;
window, wolf, wood, and wall. Thirdly, I asked the students to go and choose their activity.
Furthermore, most students chose the spider activity on the Math area and the crafting activity
which was doing their watermelon.
Besides, in the last part of the lesson I asked students to come back and I have played a song for
letter W. Miss Sims liked my preparation for the lesson and the activities she said that the activities
matchs students learning level. As (Kyriacou, 2007) mentioned that teachers should try to match
learning activities to pupils preferences. (p.46). However, I made a mistake, when I played the
song I said what the letter phoneme in state of sound, so in my next lesson, I will focus on saying
the sound rather than the phoneme.
