microwave ovens
4-077-1604
Comparing to ordinary ovens microwave ovens does not heat up food with electric heaters but
with microwaves (electromagnetic field) so therefore structure is different.
Microwave oven structure:
1 - CAVITY
2 -MAGNETRON
3 - MAGNETRON'S COOLING SYSTEM
4 - MAGNETRON'S HIGH VOLTAGE POWER SUPPLY
5 -ROTATING TRAY
6 - TRAY MOTOR
7 - WAVEGUIDE
8 - WAVEGUIDE COVER
Component description
Chapter describes components from above scheme
1 - CAVITY (housing of cooking compartment): It is entirely made out of metal (painted or
stainless steel) to prevent microwaves leakage. Necessary holes (for cooling, light and
heat transmission, tray rotation) has to be rounded with diameter less than 3cm (to
prevent leakage). For increasing security they are smaller than 1,5cm..
There are additional bigger hole in cavity to transfer microwaves from magnetron to the
food inside cavity.
Additional components
MICROWAVE DOOR:
It prevents microwave and high temperature leaking in surroundings. Mayor components:
1 - OUTER GLASS prevents dirt entry inside of door. It allows view inside of oven
3 - INNER METAL FRAME reflects microwaves. It allows view inside oven through net of tiny
holes.
5 - PROTECTIVE FOIL/FILM on inside wall of metal door frame protects from grease splashing
inside of door. Do not remove this foil from oven.
6 - INSIDE PROTECTIVE FRAME is installed on inside edges of metal door frame. When door is
closed, it is pressed to the cavity edges to protect from microwaves leaking. Protective frame is
correctly installed, when closed door holds sheet of paper between door and cavity edges.
8 - DOOR LOCKER - plastic hook holds closed door tightly to the cavity
