FOURTH BOOKS DONATION PROGRAM

Books are medium for knowledge, instruction, freedom to think, express


ones self, communication and are exceptional tools for education and
development of every human being. With the existence and generosity of
various non-profit organizations in different localities, it makes it possible for
hard-to-reach and underserved areas to have access with the education
materials to thrive for knowledge.j
The Children International Philippines, Incorporated (CIPI) supports the
Office of the Vice Governor of Misamis Oriental Province on its effort to
distribute books to all elementary and secondary schools in the Province as
this is in accordance with its advocacy on education that promotes the love
and good habit in reading. Vice Governor Pelaez is the fountainhead and an
active promoter of the A Happy Reading and Writing Habit Program which is
being implemented by the Department of Education School Divisions of
Misamis Oriental, Gingoog City and El Salvador City.
The 4th batch of books distribution which is the subject of this report,
successfully turned-over a total of 21,059 hard-bound books that were
distributed and turn-over to thirty-three (33) beneficiary schools in the
province and the City of Cagayan de Oro. This batch of distribution covered
the months of January to July 2016.
