Dear Stephanie Ramsey:
Appalachian State University has provided a valuable education for me, since 2014, within
the accounting program. The program has exceeded expectations in my three years so and I
respect the goals and missions upheld here. At this point in my academic career, I am
interested to see that a position for an Accounting Technician (Position number: 061161), at
our very own Appalachian State University, has become available. My experience in
business and accounting has well prepared me for a position, such as the one currently
available at this institution.
Much of what the position prefers, and requires, has been addressed and studied in my
previous accounting courses, or I have had the chance to practice it throughout my work
history. From my Accounting I and II courses, I have learned to put together financial
statements that are vital to a business financial department. Some of the specific skills I
have practiced include; reconciling separate accounts, daily balancing of accounts, and
utilizing spreadsheets and different databases. As you can see from my resume, I have had
various types of experience with different databases, i.e. SynXis, Night Vision, Wynguest,
Elavon and so on. With these databases, I end the transactions for the day and balance out
the folios for all the guests, as well as sending out accounting reports at the managers
requests. I am equipped to adapt to different programs and databases very smoothly.
The combination of education and training that has provided me with vast experience is
something I value the most. I learned from these experiences the values of responsibility and
trust. I want my professional career to be with people I trust and stay involved. I know, at
Appalachian State University, I can count on the diversity and trust that created the
foundation we walk on today. This position would provide opportunities for me to
demonstrate my skills and knowledge in the Accounting Department. I would be happy to
meet with you, or one of your representatives, to discuss further ways in which I can be
beneficial to your department. I can be reached any time at abdelfattahli@appstate.edu or
by telephone at 704-923-5692.
Sincerely,
Lindsey Abdelfattah
