remove if necessary

size appropriate for lesson and make sure you have
enough and that ball are properly pumped up to size.

space in relation to others

(HOW)

1. Cognitive Test:

Teacher will take 5 minutes to review material that has been taught throughout
the unit to check clarity

Students will use beginning of class to take cognitive evaluation exam (see
attached)
CUES: Remember what youve learned, Do your best
2. Five-a-side soccer:

Purpose: to teach skills through small-sided games and learn the rules of
soccer

Teams play 5 v 5 games.

Have students in a 40x30 field and teach the rules of soccer through game play

Extensions:
o
Have students walk through first game to be able to fully understand
the rules as play goes

Students must explain why certain things are happening for play to
continue

Make field/goals bigger for less skilled players

Modifications:

Have less players (4v4) if not enough students for a 5 v 5 game
o
If odd number of players have one player serve as official for the
game

Applying:
o
Have Students split into 5 person teams. On the command of Go 1st
half (5 min) will begin. Students will play for 5 minutes then on
command of STOP will stop and take 2 min half time. Teams will
make changes and then on command of GO will begin 2nd half play
(5 min). GO.
CUES: Get Forward, Find Space, Change Direction, Communicate with
teammates, Work as a team
