Abstract:
How to function a business successfully , Employee wellbeing is increasingly a focus of
government attention in UK and elsewhere. It is viewed as a legitimate target of government
policy in its own right, but there are also reasons to think that improvements in employees'
wellbeing may be conducive to economic growth. But fortunately or un fortunately due to
economic crisis , we live in high volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous environment ..
This in turn has had a negative effect on the health and wellbeing of workers.
To succeed this environment, organizations must be more adaptive and agile than ever before
they must start focusing health and wellbeing of employees , which will experience increased
productivity, lower employee turnover, and have lower health care costs . A growing body of
research shows that organizations that foster positive attitudes have employees who are more
optimistic and creative.
However, the most cited rationale for intervention in the workplace is to improve the quality of
life and productivity of workers and to reduce economic losses through absence, sickness,
disability and presenteeism , To reach a state of complete physical, mental and social wellbeing, an individual or group must be able to identify and to realize aspirations, to satisfy needs,
and to change or cope with the environment (World Health Organization (WHO), 2009, p. 2).
It is unethical and short-sighted business practice to compromise the health of workers for the
wealth of enterprises. Evelyn Kortum, WHO
