Topic Proposal

I would like to research human trafficking which is the equivalent to slavery. There are
different types of human trafficking for example the most common types are human trafficking,
sex exploitation, and forced labor. The type of trafficking I will be talking about is sex
exploitation, why it happens and how we can prevent this illegal act. Sex exploitation is the
sexual abuse through the exchange of sex for drugs, food, shelter, protection, other basics of life,
and/or money. The majority of the victims involve in sex exploitation are children and the young
adults who cannot really protect themselves.
Human trafficking is one of the illegal laws that are the leas spoken about which is why I
felt the need to discuss this subject. This is interesting to me because there are so many facts on
this topic I feel need to be discussed. The fact of the matter is that human trafficking is also a
form of modern slavery luring women and men in to sell their bodies. The people getting
involved in these action are lured in by different situation such as children being sold, and used
for escorting, working sweat shops, or on peoples properties. Adults may be involved simply
because of their partners, drugs, or kidnapped and being sold. 40% of homeless Americans were
somehow involved with prostitution. This involves one of the major problems in the United
States community.
Human trafficking is a major problem because it is very similar to slavery which is
against the law also it is against the 13th amendment. Its a major problem that should be
enforced more because we as a nation are losing more and more people to the streets each year.

There are 20 to 30 million people a year involved in some sort of trafficking a year. This
is 20 to 30 million people with skills that arent improving our community. Human trafficking is
a form of destruction in the community which needs to be further looked into instead of looked
over.
