Carondelet St. Josephs
350 N Wilmot Rd
Tucson, AZ 85711
To Whom it May Concern:
As a soon-to-be graduate who has spent the last five weeks working on the St. Josephs labor and delivery
unit, I was delighted to hear of a possible opening for a Registered Nurse position. I am currently in the
middle of my preceptorship on this unit and I feel I would be a strong candidate for this position.
I feel I would be a great addition to the labor and delivery nursing team because of my quality nursing
education and ample clinical experience. Having almost completed my BSN program, I feel confident
that my education has prepared me well to become a registered nurse. Supplementary to my education, I
have sought out additional clinical experience. I currently hold a job as a Student Nurse Technician where
I provide patient care on many different hospital units including medical-surgical, telemetry, intensive
care, emergency department, and long-term care. I was also one of eight students chosen to become a
VALOR intern at the Southern Arizona VA Health Care System where I completed 400 clinical hours in
the intensive care unit.
I think out of all of my experiences throughout my academic career, my time on this unit has been the
most valuable. My preceptor gave me a thorough orientation of the unit and taught me everything I need
to know from admitting a patient from triage all the way to transferring the patient up to couplet care. I
have successfully done a countless amount of skills on this unit including starting IVs, inserting Foleys,
medication administration, cervical exams, assessments, and setting up fetal heart monitors among many
other skills. More importantly, I am passionate about this patient population and I am excited to provide
exceptional care to these patients. It is here where I have significantly grown as a nurse and where I hope
I can continue to grow my career.
I hope you will consider me as a candidate for the Registered Nurse position and I would be more than
happy to discuss with you how my experiences and strengths will best serve this position.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Kristina Arnold
