AE Students undergoing a popular online outreach program


This is very popular across
India and almost about 17
programs
have
been
successfully completed up to
now. The students of Applied
Engineering Department have
given the first exam (module 1
and 2) for the 18 th IIRS
outreach programme on
Basics of Remote Sensing,
Geographical Information
System, and Global Navigation
and Satellite System.
organized by Indian Institute of
Remote Sensing, ISRO. In this
18th Outreach Programme, first
two modules had syllabus from
GIS and remote sensing with

been conducted for this course
on 8th October, 2016 in two
different slots. The first slot
was in morning 10-11.30 A.M.
and second slot from 3.00-4.30
P.M. It consisted of 100
questions with carried plus one
marks for correct answer and

negative of 0.3 for wrong


answer. It is a unique
opportunity to learn the basics
of RS, GIS & GNSS. IIRS also
provides credentials to receive
this programme online like
different lectures, software and
presentations. Thus, the
successful students will be
awarded certificate from IIRS/
lSRO.

First of all, congratulations! Ms.Alka Kumari and Ms.Sindhu,
Faculty of Food Technology are qualified in NET- 2016
conducted by the Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board,
established as an independent recruitment agency.
Bridging the gap between classroom and real world
An industrial visit was organized to Sri Venkata Siva Parvathi
Spinning mills limited, Chebrolu, Andhra Pradesh, India on 0810-2016 as an hands-on learning method for II year and III year
Textile Technology students. There the students got practical
exposure regarding various aspects like Blow room, carding,
Draw frame, Comber, Speed Frame etc. Ch. Govardhana Rao
and Dr.GuruMurthy, faculty of Textile Technology, accompanied
the students. This Spinning mill is a high-tech spinning plant
with machineries from world renowned textile machinery
manufacturers like Laxmi Rieter Savio and Schlafhorst saurer.
Its technology is high-end right from pre-opening line to the final

capacity of 9000 spindles in
2004 to the present installed
capacity of 56880 spindles
making us capable of
producing 22,000 tons of high
quality yarn annually.
