n November 24th to
26th, the crew of Lets
Murder Marsha, a play
that was written by Monk
Ferris performed at the
Minnedosa Community
and Conference Centre.
Thursday evening was the
no frills night, and included the performance of the
play. Friday and Saturday
evenings performances
included dinner prior to
the play.
The play had the crowd

laughing throughout, and

the cast never missed a
beat. It was obvious to the
audience that there was a
lot of work that went into
the show. Each cast member had their character
down to a tee, and they interacted very well on stage.
The cast consisted of Nicole McLenehan as Marsha Gilmore, Jamie Willis
as Max the Gilmores butler, Jackie Birch as Persis
Devore, Blair Grant as Tobias Gilmore, John Earle
as Virgil Baxter, Bonnie

Michaudville as Lynette
Thoren, and Mitch Bukarz
at Ben Quade.
The cast for the play
met on Sunday, November 13th for their dress rehearsal. The play, which
was written by Monk Ferris, is a comedy set in modern day New York.
Th e dress rehearsal
saw members of cast trying
on wigs, styling their hair,
and donning dramatic
New York fashions. DeDe
Hengen, the plays costume designer noted that,

after reading the script,

her process is to meet with
Mary Dalton, who is one
of the plays two directors,
and discuss the era that the
play is set. Lets Murder
Marsha is set in modern
day, so according to Hengen, this set of costumes
is fairly simple because we
can let them use some of
their own. Additionally,
for costumes, they borrow
from Strathclairs Drama
Clubs collection, because
they have a very good supply and are open to work-

Once the costumes
have been discussed with
the director, they begin to
come up with options that
will work with the characters and casts mobility while on set. We start
out with a whole bunch of
stuff , and narrow it down
from there, Hengen said.
