1. What requirements must you meet in order to study abroad? (i.e. GPA, etc.)
You must have a cumulative GPA of 2.75 for semester or year-long programs to
study abroad. You must also must have the approval of the Office of International
Programs and your department.
2. What are the three (3) different types of study abroad programs available to
students?
- Exchange provides students an affordable way to participate in study abroad.
These programs utilize an established relationship between specific universities
that exchange students with each other with each student paying the tuition and
fees at their home university and not at the host university;
- Direct Study Abroad program is administered by an organization offering study
abroad support services (i.e. School for International Training (SIT); American
Institute for Foreign Studies (AIFS); International Studies Abroad (ISA).

-Faculty-Led - programs that are organized and/or accompanied by an NCAT faculty


member, usually during the summer.
These are the different types of study abroad programs.
3. What are the deadlines for applying for study abroad?
The deadlines for applying for study abroad are spring: October 14, Summer:
March 15, Fall: March 15.
4. What are three different ways that you can raise money to fund your trip?
Three different ways that you can raise money to fund your trip are Scholarships,
Financial Aid, Loans.

5. Name two (2) scholarships that can fund you for your trip and how you meet the
requirements? Intern & Volunteer Abroad Scholarship Essay Contest- You submit an
essay of 250 words or less in response to one of the following prompt questions.
Well then select the best essay and award the winning applicants $500
scholarships, which is paid directly toward your selected program.
The Intern Group Scholarships for 2017- looking for talented, ambitious and globalminded students or recent graduates. There are four Global Leadership Grants
available with start dates in June, July, August and September 2017.
6. Where would you like to travel to for your study abroad experience and why?
I would want to travel somewhere like Hollywood only because there is a lot
famous successful people roaming there which could open up more opportunities.
7. Does A&T offer this as an option? If not, then what would be your second choice
destination?
No, New York would be my second option because its a big city with opportunity.
