In that written request, | asked for the opportunity to access arid inspect absentee ballots cast in the general election of 11/08/2016. This includes all absentee ballots cast, including one-stop ballots, both paper and electronic, those mailed in and hand delivered, faxed or emailed. For ballots for which ‘envelopes were required, | request to inspect the envelopes in which they were received. For ballots electronically cast, | request to view, inspect and access the memory cards for machines used as well as the tape which recorded votes cast. As | indicated to Elections Director Derek Bowens when I spoke to him at the time | submitted the above mentioned. request, my intent is to have experts inspect the above for indicators of fraud. Given the widespread and very concerning allegations of fraud in this past election, itis prudent to ensure that the integrity of the vote has been maintained ‘The law requires that you respond to and fulfill this request "as promptly as possible.” | had requested that if you expect significant delay in responding to and fulfilling this request, to please let me know when I might have access to this information. | explained that this request was time sensitive in nature as the time limitations as prescribed by state statute limit the remedies that may be sought were the above to demonstrate fraud or irregularities. had also requested that if you deny my request or any portion thereof, that you please cite each specific exemption you feel justifies the refusal to release the information and notify me of the appeal procedures available to me under the law.
