Dear Tina Sweeney,

After accomplishing my preceptorship hours on Courtyard Nine at Sarasota Memorial
Hospital, I have strong interest in pursuing my career as a nurse as a member of the CYT9 team,
and as a clinician under the Sarasota Memorial Hospital organization. I respect the reputation
and the quality of care that hospital provides, and that your floor is known for in particular, and
I would like to contribute to the quality of care as a practicing clinician.

You will find references attached from Elizabeth Rice (RN), my preceptor and current
CYT9 team member, as well as from my former clinical coordinator, Patricia Hall (MSN). Both of
these individuals have been in an educational and observatory role for me during my clinical
practice and can attest to my dedication and professional competency as a newly licensed
nurse.

I received my Bachelors Degree in Nursing, as well as Biology from the University of
South Florida, graduating cum laude and magna cum laude, respectively. I chose to pursue my
Bachelors in nursing, because during my experience as a nursing assistant and home health
aide, I developed a strong passion for quality patient care and wished to expand my
responsibilities and skill set. I am compelled by a desire to improve care through my actions and
clinical decision making, as well as through organizational incorporation of quality improvement
schemes and evidence-based practice.

It has been a privilege to spend my clinical hours on Courtyard Nine at Sarasota
Memorial and I look forward to hearing from you. The accompanying resume outlines my
competencies and capabilities relevant to the nursing expectations outlined on Sarasota
Memorial Hospitals website.

Thank you for your time,

Michael Cook
